There Are No Limits….Only Those We Place Upon Ourselves

July 26th, 2012 → 3:19 pm @

Henry Ford once said that “If you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.”

This quote illustrates a very important idea that is often ignored… the idea that, almost all of the time, limits on our abilities and our achievements are self-imposed. In other words, most of the limits we face are placed on ourselves.

Of course, there are “real” limits that we face in life. No matter how hard we try, waving our arms will not enable us to fly. But take a minute to think about the limitations you are currently facing in life, and evaluate how many of them are “real” limits, and how many are self-imposed.

For instance:

“I really wish I could learn French, but I’m terrible at learning new languages.”

“I would love to backpack across Europe, but that is impossible because I don’t make enough money.”

“I can’t enjoy life because I am stuck at this dead-end job. I hate it, but I can’t find anything better.”

“I wish I had a better relationship with my brother, but he is just impossible to talk to.”

Most of us could relate to at least one of these “wishes”, and if not, we all certainly know someone who can. Each of them represents a challenge that certainly seems impossible to overcome… but if we look more deeply into the heart of the problem, we realize that it can be overcome with a bit of planning and work.

Take the desire to backpack across Europe as an example. It is easy to dismiss it as “impossible”, especially if you don’t make much money. But if it is truly important, you can find a way to do it. This might mean saving just a bit of money each month for the next five or even ten years. It might mean connecting with a group that allows you to join them at a reduced cost. Or it might even mean finding a new job that pays more. This is a hypothetical situation, but the point is simple: by digging into the essence of a challenge that seems impossible, we can often find the solution!

So what does this mean to you today? It means that you can fearlessly look into your own heart and ask yourself “what do I really want from life?” And it means that, no matter how impossible your dreams and desires may be, they are not out of your reach. It means that by seizing the day and refusing to say “I can’t”, we can accomplish anything!!

Resolve today to stop saying, “I can’t” or “that’s impossible!” Instead, say “I don’t know how to do that yet… but if I apply my creativity and my energy, I KNOW I will discover the solution!”

This change in your mindset will change the course of your life. By pursuing your dreams without fear, you will discover a richer and more fulfilling life than you ever thought possible!

Many blessings to you as you explore this exciting journey that we call life!

The Healing Power of Forgiveness

July 19th, 2012 → 9:27 pm @

I want to challenge you to take a few moments, right now, to search yourself for any bitterness or negativity that you may be clinging to. Do you realize the negative impact this unforgiveness has upon you?  There is a saying that “It’s not the snakebite that kills us. It’s the venom that’s left behind.” This is so true.

It may not be easy, but to create true peace in our lives, it is important to let this negativity go and forgive those who have hurt us. Remember, when we forgive, we are not excusing the bad behavior that harmed us, but we are making a conscious decision to stop carrying the poisonous venom of bitterness with us as we go about our lives. And you know what? As soon as we make this decision, it is amazing how things will change within us, and we will actually be able to feel this poison leaving the body. We will begin to sleep better at night. Stress levels will decrease. Illnesses and other physical disorders may even be lifted.

If you recognize that you are carrying around the snake venom of bitterness with you today, I encourage you to let it go. You can’t control what happened in the past, but you can control how you react to it. Choose forgiveness, not bitterness. This truly is the key to finding peace in your life.

Many blessings to you!

These messages began as personal guidance for him, and later expanded to assist anyone who would come to him for Margaret’s sage wisdom. In Messages from Margaret: For the Year 2012 and Beyond, Margaret brings her messages to the world, taking the reader through the beginning of creation up until our current moment and what 2012 means for humankind. Unnecessary Necessities

June 1st, 2012 → 8:47 am @

Dancing may have filled you with joy and inspiration when you were little. Dance practice, recitals, dancing in your room; that was everything in life. You may have played the piano when you were young. As a matter of fact, you may have been quite good and loved to impress people with your talent. Well, you may say, “I have no time for that now.” What about the art, the beautiful art you may have painted? You may have even decided to use the wall in your room as a canvas. And when your mother walked in and had every right to be furious, she just couldn’t…because it was too beautiful. Or perhaps it was something else that brought you excitement when you were young, but regardless, you feel as if those days are long gone.

It may feel as if life just doesn’t seem to have room for fun and creativity anymore. With all the REAL responsibilities in our lives, the activities that feed our creative souls may just seem, well, unnecessary. I’ve actually thought the same thing many times. Fun and creativity, those are things of the past, I thought. Then surprisingly, a ukelele came to enlighten me.

Yes, I said a ukelele. See, when I was youngER, I used to play the ukelele, and I loved it. So recently I made what I thought was a small decision and bought one, you know, just for fun. I could never have imagined what kind of impact it had on my soul! Playing the ukelele has brought so much joy into my life, not just when I play, but all the time. I find myself singing more in the car and dancing when I’m home alone in my house. It’s almost like that little ukelele has fed this creative soul that has been starving for attention. It is almost like I NEED that ukelele.

I think I know why. Go outside to your favorite quiet spot and observe nature for a few minutes. Observe the sky, the variety of the plants, and all the different sounds. Our universe is bursting with creativity! As human beings, we are woven with the same fabric of the universe. Look at our own bodies – we literally embody creativity! Creativity is fun, and fun is creativity. It is a freedom to let our ideas, thoughts, and talents flow in a way that brings us happiness. It feeds our soul. What you think is fun isn’t an afterthought – It’s YOU! It isn’t time wasted. – It’s life gained! So make some time in your life for something that you just enjoy; something that’s just pure fun. Who knows? It may change every other aspect of your life for the better. You might actually realize…it’s necessary!

Many blessings to you! xoxo

Keep Pouring

May 31st, 2012 → 3:08 pm @

There are those who see the glass half full, and those who see the glass half empty. For example, suppose a twenty year marriage ends abruptly. One spouse might say, “Well, at least I have two beautiful children, and you know what, we had a lot of good years together.” We may say, “Now there’s a glass half full kind of person.” The other spouse might have the completely opposite view. When the marriage ends, he or she feels all is lost; his or her life has been wasted. We may notice, “Now there’s a glass half empty kind of person.” What if we’re wrong though? What if our view of the glass – our view of optimism and pessimism are based on a false premise? That false premise is that there exists an empty space in the glass!  Let’s look at it in a different way. –We’re not looking at an empty glass – we’re looking at a glass that can be full and overflowing. It’s just that we simply forgot to KEEP POURING.

Think about it. There are just some people who, no matter what bright side you try to paint, will not convert to a positive outlook. They’ve chosen the negative side. That’s because if they are looking at a glass that is half full, they can never overlook the fact that there is an empty space. It’s not really empty though. We live in a world of abundance. We live a life where blessings pour in continuously. Not by the year, not by the month, but by the second. It is like a glass that is being continuously poured into. It is only our choice to pour half of the goodness out to leave room for the negativity. We may feel that there needs to be room for the pain. We may feel that we must leave enough room to talk about our problems and deny the blessings in our life. Then, sure enough, before we know it, we’ve poured the entire glass out. And then it’s just empty space.

If you turn that glass right side up, right now, and connect to the truth, everything will change for you. The truth is that the intent of the universe is to prosper you. The intent of the universe is to prosper those around you. The intent of the universe is to fill your life with peace and joy to the point that it overflows…to the point you want to share it with others. That’s the truth. When we’re connected to that truth, there are no wins and losses. There are simply short term wins and long term wins. Short term wins are great and provide immediate gratification. More often, however, what we have are long term wins. These require us to stumble, to learn, to stumble again, and finally to reach the enlightenment we require to achieve the long term blessing. We’re human and we make mistakes. However, the biggest mistake is judging everything as a positive or negative, a win or a loss.

Connect to the truth of the universe and realize that everything is a process that leads to a blessing. Better yet – the process IS the blessing. Without the process, we simply wouldn’t get better. Focus on that blessing, and focus on the multitude of short term wins every single day from everyone and everything around you.

Spend your energy on the solution to your so called “problems” so that the process can lead you to the bigger blessing. Try to be a glass FULL kind of person. Keep your glass right side up…and always, always keep pouring.

Angel blessings to you! xoxo

Julie Genovese, Author of Nothing Short of Joy and Vinnie Favale, producer of the Off-Broadway show Hereafter Musical Will Be My Guests on the Next Angel Quest Show on Saturday, June 2 at 1:05pm EST

May 22nd, 2012 → 3:02 pm @

I am happy to announce that I will have 2 guests on the next Angel Quest Show, which will air on Saturday, June 2 at 1:05pm EST.  My first guest will be Julie Genovese, author of “Nothing Short of Joy.” Born a dwarf with degenerative arthritis and a childhood of humiliation and heartache, Julie was terrified she would never find happiness. After two brain surgeries, lots of trial and error, and endless soul searching, Julie finally took charge of her own life, and one day, she began to label her life… “Nothing Short of Joy.” Author Wayne Dyer said the following about her book, “This is a masterpiece that will take you out of your comfort zone and into a magical world of joy. I love this book. I love this woman. Read it and reap.” I agree with Wayne. I couldn’t put the book down!

The second guest will be Vinnie Favale. Vinnie is the producer of the Off -Broadway play, “Hereafter Musical,” a musical drama (with some light touches) that explores what happens when a loved one dies – from the perspective of both the living AND the dead. Vinnie is hoping to take this show to Broadway, to spread the wonderful message that life truly does exist after the physical body dies.

The sentiment of the “Hereafter Musical” is captured beautifully with the reading of Henry Van Dyke’s classic “Parable of Immortality” during the show’s prologue. “I am standing on the seashore. A ship spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the ocean. I stand watching her until she fades on the horizon. And someone at my side says; “she is gone.” Gone where? The loss of sight is in me, not in her. Just at the moment when someone says, “She is gone”, there are others who are watching her coming. Other voices take up the glad shout, “Here she comes!”

So tune in on June 2 at 1:05pm EST on www.wrcr.com to hear these inspirational guests. Just click onto “Listen Live.” (If you miss this show or any of Angel Quest’s earlier shows, you can simply go to http://www.throughtheeyesofanother.com/angel-quest-radio-show, and click onto the show of your choice.)

Have a wonderful, peaceful day.
