Begin Your Day By Counting Your Blessings

January 28th, 2013 → 4:29 pm @

How can we find more peace and joy in our everyday lives?  Most people are so focused on what they think are the “big” things in their lives – their jobs, classes they take, paying their bills, etc.- that they forget to slow down, smell the roses, and make the most out of each day. As I often tell my friends and clients, one of the best ways to enrich your daily life is very simple: begin each day by counting your blessings.

I mean that literally. Make a commitment to yourself that the first thing you’ll do each day when you get up is identify 10 blessings in your life. They can be little things, like “I’m thankful for the bed I’m sleeping in” or bigger things like, “I’m thankful I am healthy.” There are no rules—the point is to just take the time to think about the good things in your life.

The beauty of this exercise is that you will begin each day with the right mindset. Instead of spending your day looking for things to complain about, you will spend it looking at the positives. This will help you to appreciate the beam of sunlight within the storm.

Sure, there will be days when life will be tough. But even on the worst days, I assure you that you’ll be able to find plenty of things to appreciate. And the best part is that when you appreciate all that you have and look for the blessings around you, you’ll find that even more great things will come to you!

As the Law of Attraction says, “You get what you think about most of the time.” SO start the day off right. When you wake up in the morning, count your blessings! You will see – your whole day will truly be better – just because you took the time to smell the roses!

Many blessings to you!

The Ten Most Common Signs Deceased Loved Ones Give to Let Us Know They Are Around

January 15th, 2013 → 9:41 pm @

After our loved ones cross over, they are very anxious to let us know they are okay and are aware of what is going on in our lives.  If we are not able to feel them around us, they will often give us signs that we cannot ignore. The person who is given the sign usually knows he or she is receiving a message from the other side. I always tell my clients that they do not have to look for signs – the signs will come to them.

The signs our loved ones give us most often are:

They come through as an animal. Our loved ones are able to use their energy to go inside of an animal, such as a butterfly, ladybug, bird, or dragonfly – for a brief period of time. The animal does something it usually would not do, such as land on us, peck at our window, scream at us, etc.

They place common objects such as feathers, coins, or rocks in our path. Our loved ones like to place things over and over again in our path that were significant to them. I have had clients come to me who have had jars filled with feathers, coins, and objects they have found in the most unusual places.

They give off fragrances. We can often tell our deceased loved ones are around us when we smell their perfume, flowers, cigar or cigarette smoke, or any other familiar smell they had. There is usually no logical explanation of why the smell is there.

They make songs come on at the perfect time. We know they are around when their favorite songs come on at the right time with the exact words we need to hear. Often the same song is played in many different places.

They come to us in dreams. One of the easiest ways for them to come through to us is in our dreams. All we need to do is to ask them to come, and they will. However, we should ask them to wake us up after they come, or else we will not remember the dream.  A dream that is a true visitation will be very peaceful and we will know it is truly our loved one. We will remember this type of dream in detail many years later. (On the other hand, a subconscious dream may be frightening or feel bad. This type of dream is not your loved one.)

They show us the same numbers over and over. They loved to give us numbers that are relevant to them or you, such as birthdates, anniversaries – or repeating numbers, such as 1111, 2222, 3333, etc. These numbers may appear on clocks, billboards, or any other familiar place.

They allow us to feel peaceful for no reason. When our loved ones are in the room, they usually make us feel so loved and at peace. It usually happens at the most unsuspecting time, so there is no logical explanation for our sudden bliss.

They place thoughts in our head. Because they in spirit form, our loved ones don’t have an audible voice. Therefore, they give us messages telepathically. Pay attention to thoughts that just “pop” into your head. We can tell the difference between our thoughts and theirs by backtracking our thoughts. If you can find the thought that triggered the thought of your loved one, it is probably your thought. If something your loved one would say just pops in your head for no reason, it is probably him or her speaking directly to you!

They love to play with electricity. They turn electricity on and off. They like to flicker lights, turn the television and radio on and off, and make appliances beep for no apparent reason.

They make buzzing noises in our ears. Because our loved ones speak to us on a different, higher frequency, we may hear ringing in our ears when they are trying to get our attention.  This is a sign telling you to listen to what they are saying.

The list can go on and on, but these are the most common ways they let us know they are around. If you haven’t received any of these signs, simply ask your loved ones to come to you to let you know they are okay.  Tell them to come to you in a dream and to wake you up after the dream. The more you are aware of the messages they are giving you, the more they will continue to allow you to know they are present. Be patient and persistent, and I promise that they will give you the signs you have always wanted.  They really are okay and want you to be too!

Angel blessings to you!

What the World Needs Now is Peace, Sweet Peace

December 27th, 2012 → 11:14 pm @

2012 is drawing to a close, and while it has been a beautiful year in many respects, it has been marred by too many tragedies and acts of violence.

The most obvious happened just recently in Connecticut, when a town and many innocent families had their lives turned upside down in a horrible tragedy.

The act sparked an instant reaction in the media, amongst friends and family, and even on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. Sadly, the tragic nature of the event sparked many conversations focused on violence and hatred.

Let’s resolve for today and for the New Year to try to focus on peace, instead of the violence that is happening in the world. Remember, energy flows where attention goes. Even when you may be experiencing sorrow and anger, try to make a conscious effort to focus on peace and love, not negative emotions.

What does the world need now? The answer is very simple: peace, sweet peace.

Let’s spread peace and talk about it a lot! Let’s post stories of love on our Facebook pages and focus all our energy on what we want, instead of what we don’t want. That’s what we can do when tragedy strikes. We can try to shift the energy, and make the world a better place. Remember, when we turn on the light, the darkness goes away.

It won’t always be easy. When bad things happen around us, many of us find that it is hard to think about anything else. And in today’s media environment, where tragedies make the headlines, it can be nearly impossible to focus on anything else.

The next time a tragedy strikes, whether it is something personal in your own life, or whether it is a national story like the events in Connecticut, do your best to block out the negativity. Turn off the TV and log out of Facebook if you must. Take some time to rest and reflect on everything that you love about the world. Find the beauty that resonates in your soul. Dwell on the peace that you experience in your calmest moments. And visualize the beauty that would unfold in the world if peace and love replaced violence and hatred.

Once you have a strong picture in your mind and strong feelings of peace flowing through you, spread that feeling to others. Encourage your friends and family. Talk to them about the beauty in the world, not the tragedy. Visit Facebook and encourage your friends there to dwell on the positive, not the negative… even in the midst of tragedy.

What the world needs now is peace. And by dwelling on peace instead of violence and hatred, we can each do our part to usher peace into this world.

Have a wonderful peaceful New Year! xoxo

New Year’s Resolutions: Seek Peace in Your Relationships

December 14th, 2012 → 2:51 pm @

As 2012 winds down, many of us are focused on the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Shopping at the mall, preparing to travel for the holidays, sending out cards in the mail… it is a busy time of year to say the least!

But before we know it, the holidays will come and go. And then comes an exciting opportunity—the dawning of the New Year!

The New Year symbolizes opportunity and potential. It’s like a field covered in a fresh, pure snow… or the blank canvas of an artist.

Each of us has the opportunity to create our own future and achieve our own dreams next year. And that is why this period of time, right now, is so important. It’s our chance to identify some of our dreams and goals for the year to come.

Today, I would like to challenge you to add a very important “resolution” to your list:

Resolve to create peace in all your relationships in 2013.

Make 2013 the year that you put aside anger, conflict and hostility. Make 2013 the year that you are willing to forgive and to let go… and to breathe life back into relationships that have grown cold or weak.

It won’t be easy, because we humans are creatures of habit. We may be used to holding grudges and battling for what we think is fair. In many cases, we will have to release these old habits in order to heal relationships that have grown hostile.

And though it will be difficult at times, I promise you that it is worth the effort! The sweetness of experiencing peace all around you is amazing. The harmony and the positive energy that you’ll experience through close, healthy relationships will be rejuvenating.

So make it your goal in 2013 to seek peace in all of your relationships. Breathe deeply and let go of hostility and anger, and usher in new feelings of peace and love.

Many blessing to you as you strive to make 2013 your most peaceful year yet!

This Holiday Season, Give a Gift… of Love

November 30th, 2012 → 1:44 pm @

The Holiday season is in full swing, and shopping malls all across the country are filling up with gift shoppers. Giving gifts to one another is an important part of our holiday tradition, and many of you who are reading this will be giving gifts to friends or family members this season.

But this holiday season, I want you to think about giving something more than just a physical gift. There is nothing wrong with these traditional gifts of course, as they are a great way to show your appreciation and to make others smile. But I want you to think beyond the bright shiny toys, the designer clothes, and the latest electronics for a moment. I want you to look for opportunities to give of yourself this holiday season.

Look for opportunities to love. It may be a kind word to a cashier. It may be a hug or an encouraging word to a co-worker who is going through difficult times.

Look for opportunities to give your time. We have all seen the movies in which a rich businessman or businesswoman sends out an assistant to buy a birthday present for a family member or friend. If the recipient were to find out about it, the gift would be tarnished in their eyes, not because the actual gift is somehow worth less, but because the time and the energy that goes into picking out a gift is valuable. Time is among the most precious assets we have in this world. Look for ways to spend your time for the benefit of others.

Look for opportunities to give positive energy. The holiday season is hectic and stressful for many people. Sometimes the last thing we want to do is spend precious energy on someone else. But the gift of energy is priceless. Sometimes it is as simple as taking just 10 minutes of spending quality time with your spouse, your child, or a friend. Other times it may mean just sending positive energy to those who are struggling with something in their lives.

There will be plenty of opportunities for you and I to spend money on gifts this year, and again, there is nothing wrong with giving gifts. But, please don’t lose sight of the deeper, more powerful gift that you have to give—the gift of yourself. Giving of yourself, your love, your time, and your energy will truly make a difference to those around you.

Have a wonderful, peaceful holiday season. Many blessings to you!
